Leaf/mat
Little piece on the mat
of leaf and sitting on the mat
the leaf was on the doormat

That is the "poem" I just wrote, this very now, in the library. I am here reading International Law, and this was me taking a break.
I use inverted commas/speech marks/whatever (I'm no linguist) because I'm not sure this is very poem like, but there you go. I though I should add a last line, but then realised in pausing to think that thought I had broken from the original thread that had been the "poem" in my head and was now on notepad. So I didn't. I don't write real poems as I don't like to be too sincere about poetry, or romantic matters for that matter. Perhaps that is because it is easier to hide behind humour, or even irony or sarcasm, than to say something unambiguously sincere. Then if the perciever rejects what you said, your poem for instance, then it's ok, you can pretend you didnt really take it or mean it seriously anyway.
Who knows what that "poem" really means? I don't, it just sort of came out my mind rather meaninglessly. I think I prefer that it means nothing.
